This video is a collection of photos I took of Rice Terraces across South East Asia and the Far East. When I first saw pictures of Rice Terraces, I thought they were Modern Art paintings from a gallery and didn't believe they really existed. But believe it or not they have been around for nearly 2200 years! I visited a number of them in Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, China and Japan. They are all spectacular and hope you will see what I mean if you ever get the chance to visit one. The ones in Yunnan, Southern China are mind-blowing. The sheer size and vastness of the terrain they cover is awe striking. I still find it mind boggling when thinking about how they build and irrigate them across such vast terrains.
